Lowell George had a huge impact on me personally in the 1970’s as a young woman discovering her true musical loves. His music is very much a part of my life today, and I’m surprised he’s not already in the Hall of Fame. His musical contributions were many, and his legend remains.
Lowell George is so much more than a slide guitar master vocalist and composer. He has influenced scores of other icons of 70s rock and roll in a myriad of ways. Essentially taught Bonnie Wright how to play a slide guitar
Little Feat and Lowell George remain one of my greatest musical loves. Lowell has influenced my guitar playing immensely and the shows I saw live with him remain some of my fondest memories. Please please induct this musical giant.
I have been a pro musician all my life. Lowell was the finest musician there ever was in my opinion. The triple threat, songwriter, singer and guitarist and at the top of each of those skills. The legitimacy of the Hall of Fame is the only question here.
Lowell took rock music to areas never heard before most bands. From the Factory to playing with the Mothers. Then Feat ranged from a blues band to one with a New Orleans beat. Plus his solo album. Incredible career.
Ridiculous that Lowell isn't in there ! He's the rock n roll doctor for christ sakes !

Lowell George is one of those vectors in rock music where so many threads of American music were synthesized Into something new and exciting, and in turn influenced diverse artists who followed. Lowell George is as relevant today as when he was recording and touring in the late 70s.
