The transit commission finally agreed to restore the bus frequency we fought for at Lees Station. My legs are heavy and the struggle felt endless but we actually pulled this off. Keep watching the upcoming schedule changes to ensure they follow through.

We demand that OC Transpo increase its service from Lees station towards the downtown core and Hurdman with direct buses as a substitute to the changes made to routes servicing the station on December 20th. We request an increase in bus frequency to approach the service which was previously available.

The commutes have stayed grueling and my patience is wearing thin. We are nearing the hundred signature mark and I need you to pass this link along one more time so we have the leverage to demand better service.

Basically Sunday schedule for downtown all the time for a major station serving 5 apartment buildings, two housing coop, and more than a dozen smaller buildings and a high residential area.
I don't understand how I'm supposed to get to work after Dec 20. I moved to this block in June and one of the reasons I did was how easy it is to get places from here. I have a lot of complaints about OC transpo but this just crossed the line.
I moved to lees because of the Transitway. I work late at night, and need to be able to get home afterwards. By only having few runs of the 85, it will also make getting to school a nightmare. This is ridiculous. We need the bus coming at least every 5 minutes. It will still be absolutely packed.
I attend the university and live in Lees apartments- I use the bus every day multiple times and pay for a UOttawa bus pass. with the cold weather approaching it is very important more buses run in this area.
The Lees bus station is a necessity for the thousands of people living in the apartment buildings nearby. It is not possible for us living here to get to work or school with only 2 buses headed downtown and many of them skipping hurdman. Many of us moved to this location only because of the bus accessibility.
It took me 50 mins to get to the general hospital for physio and dr apptment that has to be on time hes a busy surgeon. It used to take me 15 mins before the chsnges. I alsp had to quit a job i had on the west end as it took over 2 hrs for me to get there doing fundraising for cheo its only in westend. This was the first job I found im over 2 years! For people who cannot speak french the westend is thr only place with english jobs! I COULD DRIVE TO ROCKLAND QUICKER THAN GLING FROM LEES STATION TP THR GENERAL HOSPITAL. Also my other physio was out of riverside hospital there were zero buses before 1000 am weekdays so my therapist to to rebook her whole schexule as 75% of the peiple coming comr by bus. Its closed on weekrnds. Does octranspo realize this is affecting thousands of people not just thousands who live near lees station. And why are we not compendated for all this mess especially if we are low income and do not own a damn car or have someone available to drive us!!! Then if we do go somewhere we cannot return anywhere close to here; we have to go 3 stations down to get back home!!
It is now a walk to work program OCTranspo set up since it takes longer to get to work than to walk to work now. It also means I don't buy a bus pass or pay much to OCtranspo any more since I am now walking. The city had better keep the sidewalks clear in the winter.

The fact that this is a student dense area whose means of travel are almost solely on buses, you remove almost all quick and reliable transportation options off of Lees, it's ridiculous. The rail won't be done until 2018 there needs to be more service in the mean time.
