Please see the attached proposal outlining suggestions for increased play-based learning opportunities for Hatfield Elementary School students. The undersigned Hatfield parents believe that our children need more play built into their school days. Included suggestions are intended to help guide thinking toward increased play at HES, and to provide rationale that supports the addition of play while operating within ESE guidelines.
We appreciate the opportunity to explore these and other options as we fully support a move toward more playful, active learning for our children.

The momentum is incredible. This shows how many people want more play for our kids at Hatfield.

Bring back 15 minute recess..I know this is not an option, but get rid of MCAS!!!
I believe that additional play will energize the students and make it easier on teachers to keep their attention while in class. In this day and age of excessive media use, children need this opportunity.
Learning to play is education!

Kids are sitting way too much these days. Let them move around and be kids again!
