Nelson & Pope did not provide a baseline to allow an estimate of the increase of traffic during peak hours, nor do they measure the amount of cut-through traffic (as opposed to station traffic, for example) during those, or any, hours. The speeds seem to be reasonable, with no evidence of excessive speeding. There is no evidence of the need for any changes in traffic patterns or speed limits.
These changes negatively affect the members of this community that have lived here for many years. In fact-it will force more traffic at the light between Northern blvd and Center Street that has notoriously been a frequent accident point. This proposal makes no sense.
As a member of the community I find it distasteful the fact that no one was informed of these changes in our village. We have a Board of Directors that is supposed to protect us not hide things from us that affect not only our every day life but the marketability of our homes.
With an all volunteer fire and ambulance service, anything that may increase the amount of time it takes volunteers, driving in their personal vehicles and subject to all traffic laws, to arrive at their headquarters, puts lives and property at too great a risk!
These proposed changes would severely impact those of us on Hewlett and Farmview. This is our neighborhood and we do not use these streets as a "cut through" but as our normal traffic pattern to and from our homes! I strongly disagree
We've been living on woodland road for 25 years and have never experienced a problem. This will create major problems for flower hill residents.
