To,
The President,
Pakistan Women Swimming Association
Subject: Petition for the independent event and Inclusion of 200m Events for Girls and in the 2023 Underage Group Girls Junior National Championship
Dear Ms.Yasmine
We, the parents and supporters of the young female swimmers within the swimming community of Pakistan, write to you today with a shared concern and request regarding the upcoming October 2023 Underage Group Girls Junior National Championship. We humbly petition the Pakistan Women Swimming Association to consider the inclusion of 200m events for girls in this championship and hold independent events of girls as managed by PWSA in the past and not mix them with boys to cause haste.
We firmly believe in the importance and value the contributions of PWSA and of female swimming in our nation. Our daughters, just like their male counterparts, dedicate immense time, effort, and determination throughout the year to excel in the sport of swimming. They are eager to showcase their strength, talent, and competitive spirit on a national platform. It would be a great disappointment for them to be denied this opportunity.
We wish to emphasize that girls in the U10 and U12 age groups are physically fit and have undergone rigorous training to participate in 200m events. They possess the necessary skills and determination to excel in these races. Denying them this chance would not only be unjust but also detrimental to the growth of women's swimming in Pakistan.
We firmly believe that girls' swimming is just as important as boys' swimming, and equal opportunities should be provided to all talented swimmers. Inclusion and equality in sports are essential values that Pakistan Women Swimming Association stands for and promotes.
We would also like to draw your attention to the fact that many Pakistani swimmers, both male and female, have demonstrated remarkable talent and potential on the international stage. To ensure that our young female swimmers have a fair chance at reaching these international levels of performance, it is essential that they receive proper training and exposure from a young age. Excluding 200m events for girls at the junior level deprives them of valuable opportunities to develop the skills and endurance necessary for international competition.
We kindly request your serious consideration of this petition, which is signed by all the concerned parents and supporters within the swimming community of Pakistan. We have high hopes for a positive response, one that will reflect our collective commitment to fostering the growth of women's swimming and gender equality in sports.
Thank you for your attention to this matter, and we eagerly await your response with a positive outcome in support of young and talented girls swimmers.
Sincerely,
Parent Body
Pakistan Girls Swimming
it makes no sense to cut these events. these girls work just as hard as the boys and they deserve their own space to compete properly without the rush
