PETITION BY TABLE TENNIS PLAYERS AND PARENTS
We are table tennis players and the parents/ guardians of table tennis players all over India. We write for one reason only. We do not take sides in any matter between the IOA Ad-hoc Committee and the TTFI. We ask only that the players are not the ones who pay the price for it. We respectfully request that the National Ranking Table Tennis Championship, Phagwara, Punjab, 14 to 21 November 2026, be included in the Ad-hoc Committee's official domestic calendar with full ranking recognition and points, whichever authority sanctions it. We also request that this be confirmed to players and parents without delay, so that no family has to cancel its plans and suffer loss.
Our children have trained all year for ranking tournaments, through tiredness, injury and the pressure of examinations. Families have given their time to daily training runs and have paid for coaching, equipment, travel and accommodation. Many of us have already made bookings for November, in the middle of the festive and wedding season, when fares and hotel rates are at their highest. Table tennis is not a rich person's sport. Most of our families live on fixed incomes, and many come from very modest backgrounds. If this event were de-recognized now, the financial loss would be serious, and the damage to our children's belief in the sport would be worse.
Please let our players and children play!
The nationals are a crucial part of the table tennis calendar non recognising it just hinders the players proper actions should be taken against the Management but the players should not face consequences due to mismanagement by ttfi
