THIS MOMENTUM IS ABSOLUTELY ELECTRIC AND SHOWS THAT OUR COMMUNITY WANTS REAL CHANGE!! I AM COMPLETELY BLOWN AWAY BY THE FORCE BEHIND THIS MOVEMENT TO MAKE OUR MUSICAL TRULY INCLUSIVE FOR EVERY STUDENT!!

As a former music teacher, and as a current music therapist, I have a unique position to be able to see how kids with various abilities can thrive in musicals! Public school is not the place to deny participation by any student in any extracurricular activity. Sure, not everyone can be the lead role or the star athlete, but let the kids be on the team or in the show.
As a former student of North, it saddens me that there is a need for this petition. Students with disabilities are a valuable part of north's community snd should not be discriminated against when comprising the roster of the yearly musical.
When I was a student at North, I volunteered with the special ed class and fell in love with all the students. They deserve a spot in the musical as they are a very important part of the school community. Cmon, North!
As the sister of someone who loves singing and dancing and also has a disability, I’m disappointed in North High School and am very glad I won’t be going there to see this type of exclusion happen.
All children should be included regardless of their abilities, this is not a Broadway play of which the kids are getting paid, so let these children have the opportunity to enjoy this time . Their abilities may only shine in this time of their lives, don’t take this away from these kids!
I believe students with disabilities should be included in ALL school activities, including the school plays and musicals. Did anyone see Glee???
Williamsville North please be on the right side of this. Set the example for other schools to follow.

The arts is often the least restrictive environment for students with exceptionalities. Musicals have the potential to be wonderful learning opportunities for ALL
