On Sunday June 3, 2016, Black Lives Matter took Toronto's Pride Parade hostage with a list of demands, among them was for Pride Toronto to remove police floats/booths from all Pride marches, parades, and community spaces.

Pride Toronto has been a strong friend and ally of Black Lives Matter, designating them as a 2016 Honorary Group and inviting them to lead this years parade. Sadly, no prior discussion of a sit-in was made by Black Lives Matter, forcing Pride Toronto to sign off under duress.

To the members of Black Lives Matter: You have not just attacked the servicemen that support our community, you have attacked the core principals and values celebrated by one of your closest allies. We, the LGBTQ2 community stand for inclusiveness of people from all groups and walks of life.

This petition is for the servicemen and woman that were told they cannot march in this years parade. We, the LGBTQ2 community, welcome you and hope to see you at next year's parade with a presence that is bigger and stronger than ever before.
