We are in desparate need for the laws in Georgia to change when it comes to grandparents visitation rights. As we understand it through the courts, that grandparents only have the rights to petition for visitation rights. We need a law that will allow grandparents that have certain circumstances such as death of their child, to legally have the deceased parent's rights to visitation. It is up to the courts to establish that the grandparents are morally, physically and mentally able to interact with their grandchildren.

Please, if there is any Senator, Congressman, Lawyer, or even the Governor of Georgia that can help with this petition, please sign or email to [email protected].

If you believe as we do, that Georgia needs to re-evaluate the Grandparents Visitation Rights in Georgia, then please sign the petition and contact your Congressman in Georgia.

We are the grieving parent's of a deceased son, and desparately in need of visitation rights with our loving grandchildren.

Sincerely,

Sheila & Jimmy Johns

Sugar Valley, Ga.

THESE KIDS NEED THEIR GRANDPARENTS. FAMILY IS EVERYTHING AND THE LAW SHOULD DEFEND THAT NOT TEAR IT APART.

My heart goes out to you. It is just not right that grandparents get blocked out when they need those kids the most. Georgia really needs to fix this law.
