Due to budget issues, the Richmond School Board is proposing to close Clark Springs Elementary School and transfer the students to John B. Cary Elementary School. The result will be a very large single school district with the potential for overcrowding.
To help alleviate overcrowding, foster a more neighborhood school system, and improve operational efficiencies, it is recommended to rezone the Museum District to attend William Fox and/or Mary Munford Elementary Schools.

The school board remains silent on these proposed changes and the uncertainty for our families is becoming exhausting. I have been spending my nights organizing the data on rezoning impacts to ensure we are ready for the next public meeting.

enough with the overcrowding. our schools are already at capacity and this will just push them over the edge. do better.
Fix the rezoning. It makes no sense for kids to be bused across town when there are schools right here in the district.
my kids are at clark springs and this is just gonna make everything way to crowded. keep our neighborhood school open.
Ridiculous proposal. Fox and Munford have the space. Why is this even a question?
My niece goes there and she loves her school. Don't close it down just to save a buck. This is our community.

Total mess. The board needs to actually look at the maps instead of just trying to cram everyone into jb cary.
