The board has officially approved the accelerated budget for our security upgrades. It is a relief to see these necessary changes moving forward so our students and staff will be safer sooner. Thank you for staying committed to this goal until we saw it through to the end.
Please sign this I-Petition to request that our Cherry Hill BOE upgrade 16 Cherry Hill school’s camera security equipment in 2018 ....not in 2020.
As of now, our school’s have $12M in Capital Reserves and we ask the CH BOE to spend an estimated $1.1M to install approximately 650 security cameras. This will cover the inside and outside of 16 schools before the start of the school year on 9-1-2018.
Commentary: This past weekend I was lucky enough to investigate two local neighboring schools camera security systems. I found one to have a total of 55 cameras and the other school to have 61 cameras, installed inside and out. My current child’s school has ONE camera which is weak ....very weak when comparing to 55 or 61 cameras in two different schools.
Please sign and make your voice heard to ensure our Cherry Hill schools are safer for our children now ...not 2 years from now in 2020!!
I have three kids in Cherry Hill public schools and I’m shocked to find out we have no cameras and that the security measures are so far behind. Let’s get with the times and keep our kids safe!

I feel it is very important to improve the security st schools. Unfortunatey, with the easy availability to get weapons, we leave our children vulnerable. No child or family should have to experience this. Why we choose not to act before something terrible happens is beyond me. We spend money on things that not as important as protecting our children who are the future of our community.

If Cherry Hill was more fairly funded by the state maybe we'd have the same gear that other South Jersey schools have to improve security for our kids and teachers.

I work in a high school where there is a lot of camera security. We live in a great school district and our schools should have state of the art security. Thank you for your efforts in trying to get this done sooner rather than later.

We should have state of the art camera servalance at all our Cherry Hill Schools -inside and outside of each building. This is a difficult world we live in now and this is for student security against a students actions that are questionable. Could be used for HiB investigations to confirm actions.
