As a former student and Parent of Butler Area school district, I have concerns over the proposal. I understand the reasons for the changes but they need to take whats best for the kids into account I feel this proposal is a good alternitve to their plan!

I grew up in the Butler School district and attended Oakland Twp. Elementary School. I believe kids need to be kids and not forced to attend a school where they are worried about things other than their education. I also believe in smaller classes so they can receive better individual attention. I sincerely hope that these schools are not closed and the delicate developement of children is of utmost consideration.

Please take more time to consider as to whether this plan is the best learning environment change for the children.

goverment needs to put more thought into our children and their safety in school and less on shutting them down to cram 30 kids to 1 teacher so they can pocket a few dollers

save our schools cramming all children into 1 or 2 schools wont work less teachers more kids to a class not enough time for a teacher to give each an every student or even just the ones that need extra help just dumb kids r not gonna get the attention they need our kids education is goin to poor so that the goverment can save a few dollars wow

i do not like the idea of them shutting down broad street elementary to send my kids to yet another school with older children which i think will scare my kids n if they shut the elementary school im thinking about home schooling my kids so they arent scared to go to school..

This proposal is similar to what other area in other states have done with great success.

i think this is too much of a hassel no one is clearly thinking bout the children... look how many children are use to their environments also the more u shut down the more busing u will have to provide more parents worried bout their children who have to ride the bus in the nasty winter months. i as a parent would be on to walk their child to school if they had a school with in walkin distance unlike some parent who just let their child walk by theirselfs

This sounds a lot smarter than the other proposal.

I really like this proposal for several reason: 1. I'm VERY concerned like many other parents about safety being an issue for the 4-6th graders at current Jr. High location. 2. You lose the mentoring of 5th & 6thgrafers with younger children when you separate with model k-3rd. 3. I like the idea of the "neighborhood" school where families take pride, ownership and get involved in helping make every students educational experience a positive, successful experience.

the he high is what needs to be shut down! The place needs too much work to change over for younger kids which means another added expense you can afford! Close it an leave our little school how they are!!

Emily Britain should remain open thats the best school there is in Butler I mean it my daughter loves that school a lot like. She crystal Bc you guys want to fucking up and try to close her school like you guys need to re think this and look what would do to our children not you guys thats selfish

Please do not chose Oakland Elementary. My kids love their school and are so smart because of the teachers! It is a wonderful district that doesn't deserve to be closed down!

Out lying schools in the district should not be closed. There would be major transportation issues following such a closing.

I strongly believe the children do better in k-6format. Also very reluctant to have the children go to the JHS due to safety reason and I feel that money could be better spent making accomodations in the elementary grade schools. Money could be made by selling the JH, maybe for apartments with built in pool and gym, or whatever. I think that busing issues would be less severe if they continue to serve only the K6 schools and the SHS and IHS campuses.
