I am currently organizing the gathered data regarding highway safety standards for a formal presentation to the Illinois Department of Transportation. My focus is on drafting a proposal that highlights the discrepancy between current speed limits and modern vehicle engineering capabilities.

Drove from Chicago to St Louis last week and almost fell asleep from boredom. Need to keep things moving.
Totally agree. My car is meant for the highway not a 55 mph crawl. Its 2017 not 1970.
Safety has come a long way since they set these limits. Time to update the laws to fit the cars we actually drive now.
About time. Everybody already does 80 anyway. Just make it legal so we stop getting tickets for keeping up with traffic.
PLEASE!! Driving 60 on the open road is ridiculous.

The speed limit is a joke. Just a way for the cops to rake in cash from people just trying to get home from work.
