Dharwad district has the following merits to support the claims mentioned here.
· Dharwad is the most suitable location with wonderful climatic conditions all round the year.

It
has very good connectivity infrastructure like Airport,
Rail and Road.
· It has been an established educational hub, with well known Institutes like KIMS (Govt. Medical college), BVB College of Engineering (Estd.1947)along with host of KLE Society colleges, SDM Group of College in Engineering, Medical and Dental Programs.
· It comes under Bangalore - Mumbai industrial corridor.
· It is geographically located equidistance from IIT, Mumbai, IIT, Chennai and shall be good for Karnataka students technological aspirations.
· KIADB has huge tract of land here

IIT at HD is truly an IIT for KA. HD has got everything needed to for an institute like IIT viz, roads, rail, airport, industry support, climate, cost of living, medical facilities, tourism gateway. More importantly, HD is the most convenient location for rest of KA as well as part of IN.
Dharwad was 2nd in the list of eligible capital cities of India, when Britishers prepared the list of cities best of capital cities of India. Now it is ignored, IIT would boost's statue and shows it's potential. I will support IIT to dharwad
The righteous place for the right ordeal. Dharwad, is the craddle for all the great edicational institutions even before independednce. So, it deserves an IIT.
I have been training students to take up competitive examinations for many years now and there is lots of talent.... Many from our region will make it.... and surely dharwar stands out as a natural choice both strategically and need wise
Since boosting the devpmt on NK is very essential, the state govt should look forward to set up IIT in Hubli-Dharwad in order to reduce regional imbalance..If everything is set up in bangalore, when would other cities develop?? karnataka is not just bangalore or mysore..plz look towards NK too

In south Karnataka, already one NIT at Surthakal & one IIM at Bangalore are there. But in North Karnataka being Education Hub there is no bit instiution. Hence it is required at Dharwad.
