Respected sir, It is the one of the most urgently felt need that Assam too should have a presence of the IT industry. Hundreds of engineering graduates from Assam as well those who are from Assam but have completed their engg. degrees outside are going to places like Bangalore, Chennai, Hydrabad,Pune etc. in search of IT and related jobs. This is happenning so because there are nil opportunities for them to work in Assam itself. The drain of skilled manpower from Assam to other states of the country is having an adverse effect on the economy of our state. If the majority of these graduates could be retained in Assam then that could help the economy of Assam as this section of the population would then be spending money in their home state. Besides, it is not morally correct for anyone to go to such far away places in search of jobs. So as to accomodate this section of the population in Assam it is our ardent request to you that conditions be made suitable expeditiously for MNCs to open branches in Guwahati/Assam. It is our ardent request that all sorts of incentives be given to those willing to open branches in Assam. Kindly do all the needful in improving the infrastructure of the state so that companies find Assam to be a suitable location for starting their operations.
