There seems to be a real upevil here that equity was never considered. Financial concerns SEEMS to be decided by a small group of elected individuals and their appointees who are deciding how tax money is being expenditured. At this moment, if this is to continue, the city and county tax payers should decide how the revenues are raised and who should benefit from them. Don't loose sight of the fact that downtown management and the Ritz have taken sole decision to decide who, what and when will be available. Seems that this situation should be decided at the next election. Without concern for business, the Ritz and its management, and the most important element, The Citizen. Time is here! Don't think for a moment that the leadership of of City and County don't have an agenda. You may have been left out of the equation.

Should be at least 12 nights... because for one it supports the local businesses. But also because if you only have 4 and 2 get rained out how's that fun for anyone?? Give them 12!!

A big mistake only having 4 events planned for the Ida Cox series. What were they thinking ????

I think this would have been year 15 of the Ida Cox Music Series. We should be celebrating this milestone. The outdoor concerts gave our community a chance to connect, socialize, and explore the downtown. Not everyone can afford to go to concerts and this provides an opportunity for free, quality live music. Not many small towns can offer that.

My son and I look forward to this event every Friday. It is wonderful setting, to watch the sun set behind the stage, community gathering, singing and dancing. Keep the small town charm!!! It's what made love being here!

I don’t know who decided to change Ida Cox but it was a bad decision. I look forward to Saturday nights downtown in the summertime. Sitting outside listening to good music. Stick to the old saying “if it’s not broke, don’t fix it.” Leave Ida Cox alone.

Ida Cox being held downtown ensures accessibility to the entire town. If the city wants to build the Ritz back up, start showing movies on a regular basis again, don’t hurt a fun tradition that brings in revenue for small businesses.

I know it takes a lot of planning and coordination to pull off this event all summer long. My family loves sitting in the street on Saturday evening listening to good music, fellowshipping with friends new and old, and visiting the local merchants. Our children particularly love bringing chalk or bubbles and playing with their friends. Please do not shorten this amazing event and move it inside The Ritz. While The Ritz is beautiful it is not the same atmosphere as the open air concerts.

This is practically an abomination, chopping the concert series from 12 to 4 and moving it indoors! What fun is that?!? It only harms businesses and massacres the small, close-knit town vibe.
