These concerts are a big deal for our small town and a big part of what makes it special is the fact that it’s out in the mall

Attracting musicians for the Ida Cox outdoor events no doubt takes substantial effort, time and money. However it’s apparent the downtown needs more, not fewer events to attract guests to it. We’ve substantial competition with surrounding communities for limited tourism. In recent years Toccoa has done a better job of improving it’s appearance and attractions. Evening dining and more events are needed. Ida Cox is an attraction unique to Toccoa and should be cherished and maintained.

The original spirit of the music festival was to bring the community together and to encourage patronage in the downtown community. Moving the festival to the Ritz defeats this purpose and will essentially be the end of the music series. Please keep this festival downtown where it belongs.
Shows at the Ritz are fantastic, but that should be a separate endeavor.

Concerts benefit downtown businesses and should not be cut. Also provides entertainment in the summertime that will make the city grow. Deleting them taking away will make the city crank up like other dead towns install. All 12 are needed

This has been a long standing tradition in Toccoa on Saturday nights. It is the only way some small businesses survive the summer months. Please keep Ida Cox the same number of concerts it has always been.

This is where it all started. I played the first year second year and a few times when they changed it to the Ida Cox series. It was a great thing I remember everybody posting pictures cuz you could have a beer on the streets in downtown Toccoa. Families with their kids and a big sense of community you would run into people that you haven't seen in years yet you live in the same town. That was the great thing about the origins of Roots Rhytyms and Rails. It was all about bringing the community together. Chuck Taylor and Jessica Handwork had a vision and made it happen. Taking it off the streets downtown and putting it in the Ritz Will destroy the whole series eventually I believe. It was our cool little thing that our little town did and brought people out from other little towns just because we was cool enough to have a music festival downtown on the weekends. Chris Chambers and Reese Reece Watson A lot of people have dedicated their time and talents into making this thing happen and getting it off the ground to begin with. So go sign the petition and let the city know that you want to keep the music in the streets and bring the community together. And also maybe focus on more local talent because there is a lot of talented musicians in our area.

Please keep the Ida Cox Music Series every Saturday in June thru August and also on Doyle St. Do not change this event to the Greenspace area, it is too hot there without any shade.
It's the highlight of my summer.
