We have enjoyed and shared this series with family and friends while visiting NE Georgia for several years. I've even shared with our local downtown development board what a great opportunity it is for local businesses.

The Ida Cox Concert series has proven to be a great event each Saturday night since 2012, at least. It provides community interaction and supports downtown businesses as well as it brings a festive atmosphere!

We look forward to this event every year. It has grown to become something really special, it’s where people meet up, dance, talk, laugh and enjoy great music. The Ritz is great but it just doesn’t provide the same atmosphere.

Ida Cox has grown significantly over the last few years and is so well attended. If it changes to just once a month that will all end. It needs to remain weekly and it needs to always be outside unless there is an absolute certainty of rain.

As a musician who has played at Ida Cox both for a street event and in the Ritz (when it rained), I can say that nothing beats a street festival. The community engagement, the atmosphere, the benefits to Downtown businesses, the list goes on and on. Please consider hiring more local bands if you are trying to save money. There are so many great bands in NE GA that would love to play on Doyle St.!

As one of the VERY few musicians in Toccoa, this once again shows that the City of Toccoa has ZERO concern for the opinion if Local Businesses, Musicians, or the Public .

The Schaeffer center is owned by the city, which means they will be taking business away from the businesses of Toccoa. Whoever made this decision should be fired. Myself, my friends & my family will NOT attend any Idaho Cox event at the Schaeffer center.
