Roy Cooper, officer Kerrick did nothing wrong. It is unfortunate that someone lost their life. Mr. Ferrell chose to drink & smoke pot on the night in question which does impair judgement & most likely cased his wreck in the first place. Had he not made those choices, this whole event would not have unfolded this way. Had he not had impaired judgement and simply had a wreck, then he more than likely would have tried to seek help in a not so alarming way & followed commands given to him (from the home owner and the officers). I hope you will see through the rhetoric set forth to say that this was about race because it has never been about race. It was about a homeowner calling for help because someone was trying to break in her home and she was scared. When officers arrived on the scene a big man charged at them and did not follow commands to stop and therefore was shot until the threat stopped. Officer Kerrick may have saved the other officers lives. Had J. Ferrell been able to take the gun out of the officers hand one or more of these officers could have been just another statistic. These officers deserve to go home to their family every day.

The jury has spoken; just as the first grand jury spoke. Officer Kerrick should not have been indicted or tried. I believe in his innocence. When a police officer gives a command, comply; you can resolve it later rather than sooner and with disasterous results for 2 families as happened here. Please DO NOT RETRY OFFICER KERRICK.

Officer Kerrick performed his duties as he was trained to do so and used the amount of force necessary to neutralize the threat to himself and his fellow Officer. The deceased individual chose to continue to pose a threat and unfortunately paid the ultimate price. Immediate compliance would have ended this incident in a much different manner. Please do not retry this case and cause the taxpayers and Officer Kerrick more unnecessary expense. Kerrick is innocent of all charges. Please do not cave to political pressure from special interest groups and destructive influences such as "Black Lives Matter". Thank you for your time.

Police have an extremely difficult job to do. Most of them work for very little pay, work long hours, and are willing to sacrifice their time relationships and lives to serve their communities. We constantly praise the military, but the people who protect our communities get no tax breaks, no special treatment, and are constantly scrutinized for the difficult decisions they have to make in split second situations. People need to start taking responsibility for their actions, instead of expecting special treatment when they act unruly. Police are not mind readers. They do not know where you've been, what you've doing, or what you are planning on doing. Police lives matter. Retrying this officer will just set the precedent that its okay for citizens to disrespect officers, destroy communities, and hurt people without reproach.

Do what's right Roy cooper! 1 trial and done. If you spend 300,000 on another trial it will be absurd. No matter how many times you try kerricks it will be deadlocked or not guilty. Stop wasting our money

Officer Kerrick did NOT do anything wrong. Monday morning quarterbacking from politicians will never work. If the politicians want to quarterback..let them walk in our shoes before they judge..
