His case was heard by a jury of his peers. They could not reach a unanimous verdict of guilty. There's no reason to put Wes' family or the Ferrell family through another trial.

There will never be a conviction. It was an 8-4 vote and it must be unanimous to convict. If it had been 8 to convict I could understand a retrial. NC is in a severe budget crisis as shown by the blood testing, or lack thereof. The decision should not be made to appease the population. The decision should be made based on fundamentals of sensibility.

Sometimes I think people forget this happened in the middle of the night, in almost complete darkness. God bless the police who try and do the right thing.

Please do not retry Officer Kerrick. In my opinion, the evidence clearly supports that he was doing his job and acted in self defense. He and his family do not deserve the hardships of a second trial.

Officer Kerrick should never have been indicted in the first place. He did what he had to do to defend himself. Let me ask you this: Would this have ever gone to trial if he had attacked the BLACK police officer instead? I think not. This whole thing, along with the settlement, was nothing more than an "appeasement" to racial troublemakers.

a waste of time and money a retrial would be. When I want help I don't charge at police officer to get it. I am wuite sure that most anyone including myself would have acted just as Officer Kerrick did.

Officer Kerrick did his job. When an officer says stop or get down, STOP. What part of that is misunderstood? Rebellion and disrespect towards policemen and women in this country is pathetic. Officer Kerrick should have never been charged and definitely doesn't deserve to be tried again. I support Officer Kerrick!

The jury has spoken. The family won a civil suit and collected 2.25 million. That will not bring their son back if he had done what the officer told him to do perhaps the whole ordeal could have been avoided. I'm tired of people blaming other people for their mistakes.
