I Support Officer Kerrick

I support officer Kerrick and see no need to waste our tax money for a re-trial of a officer wrongly charged in this matter.

This accident was very unfortunate but there is no reason to retry. While the family settled, it still was an 8/4 outcome.

Watched the trial. No retrial. He was proven to be innovent

Do not feel AG should retry Officer Kerrick as I feel he is innocent.

It was an unfortunate accident - but Ferrell should never have charged at Kerrick. If he had followed common sense and protocol- this never would have happened. Kerrick did not know if Ferrell was armed, on drugs or delusional.

The majority of the jurors voted to acquit Officer Kerrick. A retrial would not change that outcome and just put both families through further anguish and incur substantial cost. The time has come to accept what the majority of the jury determined and move on.

How many times does a jury have to say there is not enough evidence...... Even the DA in Meck said the same thing. Yet we are going to keep on spending money to satisfy who?? Any other person would have been free when the first Grand Jury said no True Bill.

I support Officer Kerrick. Our law enforcement is under fire and we need to stand strong.

Evidence and commonsense showed clear cut self defense. At least there is reasonable doubt. To retry him until someone is found to try and convict him, would be a miscarriage of justice. We are living in a climate where police officers are targets for ambush. It's an awful place to live in when we make police officers second guess a decision to save their own lives. People of pure intent, do NOT charge at police officers or attempt to kick in doors of strangers. It's an unfortunate circumstance that Officer Kerrick defending himself resulted in the death of another human. He will live with that for the rest of his life. He doesn't need punishment of repeat trials. It's sad that Fmr Chief Monroe was hellbent on charging Officer Kerrick with a crime and rushed to reward the Ferrell family with a civil suit award before there was even a criminal trial. This made Officer Kerrick appear guilty to the nation before any evidence was released to us public. It seems fair now to not repeatedly try him and also to award Officer Kerrick with a settlement as we have the Ferrell family. People lose their lives daily through poor choices they have made, no fault of others just plain lack of judgement or stupidity on their part. I feel for a family who loss their son, brother, etc. Especially since we have lost family members also, not shot by police but death through their peers. I'd be embarrassed as he family members to make this public mockery of justice. I would mourn my family members death and move on with life. Maybe start a community center for troubled youth with that money, or teach people especially youth, the proper response and way to approach an officer. Maybe also encourage the youth not to drink and drive or do drugs. There are so many positive things that can be done to honor the deceased.

I support Officer Kerrick and his actions .....let those who doubt his innocence put themselves in his shoes....
