please do not retry this case we don't need to waste more tax payers money on this. He did the same as most in his place would do. This trial was sufficient.

Only Officer Kerrick knows the fear he felt as this young man ran at him, and did not follow commands to lay on the ground. Remember the two young officers shot point blank by a man who did not appear threatening, and both of them are dead. Was he supposed to take that risk as a police officer, or was the man he shot supposed to follow commands and lay on the ground. Why is it if we don't obey the law and we have bad results, it is the policeman's fault.

Bible says you live under the laws of the land, he gave a command to stop, if he wasn't drinking and didn't crash his car and listen to the police officer he would be alive today. John Myers, the day of our Lord. Pray for everyone to be more like Christ.

Please do not retry Officer Kerrick. I have followed the trial very closely and from what I have seen, despite the media's attempt to paint him guilty, Officer Kerrick acted appropriately. Don't let him become more of a victim than he already is. The past police chief (Rodney Monroe) and the media tried him the day after the incident and found him guilty. What happened to "innocent until proven guilty"?

40 PLUS YEARS AGO ON CHRISTMAS EVE NIGHT, I STOPPED A VEHICLE FOR SPEEDING ON AN ICY STREET. THE DRIVER JUMPED OUT AND RAN. AFTER A FOOT CHASE INTO A DARK NEIGHBORHOOD, I CAUGHT THE SUSPECT AND WAS WALKING HIM BACK TO THE CAR WHEN HE SHOVED ME DOWN ON THE ICY GROUND. I FELL ON MY STOMACH WITH MY RIGHT HAND HOLDING MY PISTOL. I REMEMBER THINKING THAT THE NEXT DAY WAS CHRISTMAS AND I HAD TO BE HOME TO PUT TOYS TOGETHER. THE SUSPECT STARTED TRYING TO GET MY WEAPON AND I STARTED FIRING IT TO GET RID OF THE BULLETS. THE ONLY THING I COULD THINK WAS THAT THE NEXT DAY WAS CHRISTMAS AND I HAD TO BE HOME TO PUT TOYS TOGETHER..
THE NEXT THING I REMEMBER
I WAS IN HIS BEAR HUG HITTING THE SUSPECT OVER THE HEAD WITH MY WEAPON TO MAKE HIM TURN ME LOOSE. THEN I SAW HIM RUNNING AWAY FROM ME AND I THANKED GOD FOR FREEING ME. THE REST OF THE STORY IS NOT IMPORTANT, BUT WHAT IS IMPORTANT IS THE FACT THAT WITHIN AN HOUR I COULD NOT EXPLAIN WHAT HAPPENED DURING THOSE LOST MINUTES OF MY ORDEAL. I HAVE NO IDEA WHY I DID WHAT I DID. NO PREVIOUS TRAINING COULD HAVE PREPARED ME FOR WHAT HAPPENED. YET WE EXPECT OFFICERS TO FOLLOW THE PROCEDURES DURING SUCH CRISES. YOU CAN'T DETERMINE HOW ANYONE WILL REACT WHEN PUT INTO THESE SITUATIONS. BEFORE YOU TELL ANYONE ELSE WHAT THE OFFICER DID WRONG, PLEASE BELIEVE ME YOU DO NOT KNOW WHAT YOU WOULD HAVE DONE.
WE ALL HAVE RUINED THIS OFFICER'S LIFE . NOW LET HIM GET HIS NEW LIFE STARTED.

Retrying this case or finding Officer Kerrick would be sending a message that we must not comply with law enforcement. I believe that a lot of people are looking at this as a racial incident. Had Mr. Ferrel complied and followed the officers orders, the outcome would have been different.

I believe Ferrell was the aggressor and that Officer Kerrick had no other choice than to protect himself.
