Black Juror needs to be held in contemt of court due to interview on TV. I quote he said " I felt Officer Kerrick was guilty and the defense was going to have to prove he was innocent. I told them before the trial started."

He never should've been charged in the first place! I am a North Carolina voter so I will be watching very closely what the decision is and won't forget it one way or the other!

The evidence was presented in court and the jurors made a decision. People not attending are uninformed as to what really happened.

I agree with most of the remarks I've read. I think there was a fair trial and the case could not be proved beyond a reasonable doubt. Let it go and allow Kerrick and the two families get on with his lives. Don't continue spending huge amount of money and still get the same results! Let the healing begin, please!

The jury has said, by majority, that Kerrick is not guilty. time to move on, not go backwards, to a new trial, which costs the taxpayers $62,000.00 a DAY.

Our officers are extremely vulnerable and go to work each day wearing bullseyes. If a suspect rushes an officer, the officer must defend himself. I am extremely troubled by Mr. Ferrell's passing, but it must be attributed to lack of respect for LEOs.
I will go further to say that I have in the past done things for which I should be arrested. So far I have not been arrested, but if an officer attempts to arrest me, then I will go with him/her quietly and without incident. Let the courts sort it out.

With a jury deadlocked at 8-4 in favor of a not guilty verdict it is time to move on.
Any further prosecution of this case will be nothing more than political grandstanding.
