If it were MY child, I would have taught him to respect the police and respect the laws by not driving while intoxicated and high. My father taught me that if I disobey my leaders (police officers or whomever) that I would welcome any punishment associated with it. I trained my son the same way. Because Ferrell did not listen and obey what was asked of him, he incurred the punishment. Unfortunately for him, he died.

the decision to retry should be left up to the justice system not the family... The Jury has spoken

Do not try him again. the reason he was tried this time was because of Chief Monroe in my opinion and Roy Cooper trying to help him get to be Governor. We will never vote for him.

The "State of NC" has gone out of it's way to get Officer Kerrick to trial. Two Grand Juries is almost unheard of. Well, STATE, you got your trial. STATE, you presented your evidence, gave your oral arguments, and then asked a jury to find officer Kerrick guilty. STATE, the Jurors did fulfill their responsibility and returned a verdict of 8-4 for Kerrick being found, Not Guilty. STATE, you must now decide who you are. Are you Justice for all, or revenge for a few. Let's put an end to this and not have a second trial.

Officers have split seconds to make a decision. We are not officer Kerrick and did not see what he did when he made the decision to use his weapon.

The system has spoken. Don't let political motives override it.

This was a horrible situation for all concerned, but if Mr Ferrell had obeyed commands given him by officers, I think things would have ended much differently. It's a difficult loss for all of the families involved.

Do Not retry Randall Kerrick. Do not allow our justice system to be driven by politics. The facts are clear and after the State rested they failed to establish probable cause much less beyond a reasonable doubt. Do your job, follow the law and dismiss the case.

I support the petition that the State NOT retry Officer Kerrick it would only cause more harm-the jury has already spoken!

Listen to officers when they address you. Problem solved.
