Officer Kerrick never should have been charged in the first place. The charge was politically motivated and he was merely protecting himself as officers are trained to do.

Due to the first grand jury not indicting Officer Kerrick and the mistrial in favor of acquitting Officer Kerrick, as a citizen of North Carolina I am asking the Attorney General NOT to retry him because I do believe he is innocent and was acting in self-defense.

Please don't waste more tax dollars on a case like this. Our judicial process worked just fine, and the odds of any other verdict being returned are too small to warrant another trial. Shame on attorney Chestnut for saying that we need help from Washington to "get a conviction". He needs to go back to law school. Getting justice does not presume a guilty verdict!

Since when is an officer who is being threatened by an enraged suspect cannot defend himself. This is outrageous that an officer is being accused of murder for doing the job he was trained to do. Since when does "Stop or I'll shoot" not apply?!

I support officer Kerrick. It's important to call this what it is - he is an innocent person being racially targeted because he is white. Take a look at the news article in the Charlotte Observer this morning (8/27) "the white officer accused of killing an unarmed black man." Further in the article you find that Officer Kerrick was arrested within a day of the shooting and the fact that the leadership of the CMPD did not due their due diligence, but pandered to a racially motivated stance. When the so-called damning evidence was played in court, "“...you knew they (top CMPD officials) were not truthful."
It's time to take a stand for justice and fight for what is right in this country. Nobody owes anything to anybody, especially because of the color of your skin. Everyone has the right to life, and if that life is threatened by someone whether they are armed or not (and regardless of the color of your skin), you have the right to defend yourself, period.
Officer Kerrick - may justice prevail and may you be acquitted of these ridiculous charges. May you get your life restored to what it was prior to this.

Don't waste time and money on trying this case again for political or PC reasons.. 11-1 should demonstrate the consensus of the community's knowledge on what is fact. Spend the resources on real community threats and dangerous people.

By looking at the tape of dash cam my parents have always taught my sister and brother and I that you respect the police ok. 1st of all if his call had broke down and the police showed up why would just get in the ground and put your hands out in front you you and tell the police hey it's all good my car just broke down it's 130 in the morning. But no he starts running at the police and gets in a fight with him you don't need to be armed to kill a person
