I believe officer Kerrick to be innocent and a retrial of this case is nothing but a political compromise.

I've know this fine young man since he went to high school with my daughter and son. This trial was outrageous, inappropriate and a travesty. No retrial should be contemplated! At least the majority of the jury saw truth and reason. God bless Wes and his young family.

Ferrell supporters will never be satisfied until they get a guilty verdict. This is not justice!

INNOCENT! THERE IS NO JURY IN THE USA THAT SHOULD CONVICT THIS MAN, HE WAS ATTACKED AND DEFENDED HIMSELF.

I'm a decorated retired police officer of twenty five and one half years, and almost never become involved with media and judicial system. However, in this instance, I'm appalled in the way this trial was handled. Brother Kerrick probably wasn't even in the right state of mind to provide a statement following the incident. He should have been given the opportunity to seek medical attention and counseling. Regarding the denial for a change of venue, I only hope his defense team tucks this away for the appeal should a new trial occur. And concerning the no bill, again, a number of cases are relevant in this regard. I have never witnessed a civil litigation adjudicated prior to the criminal trial. Best of luck to you brother and be safe.

I am a career prosecutor who is extremely "law and order". I do NOT believe the Prosecution in the Kerrick case will ever be able to convict with a split of 8-4. Even without knowing the balance (guilty or not guilty), that large a split will not likely ever be overcome and a unanimous verdict reached. Face facts and ignore the political pressure.

The trial was fair but the jury followed racial lines in the outcome.

The only reason this case went to trial was due to the pressure placed on the Attorney General by the twisted minded, mentally unbalanced, ignorant citizens; and the liberal left wing biased press and social media.

The vote to convict was not even close, they are never going to get a guilty verdict in this case

This NEVER should have gone to trial! The first Grand Jury did not indict.
