I believe police officers should be able to protect themselves. This young man should have not rushed the office and charged at him. I would think anyone he charged at like that would be fearful

He is not guilty, any LEO would know this, and it's a shame that the city in which he defended threw him under the bus. Completely sickening. He needs to be given the compensation that Charlotte gave the "victims" family.

Went to school and was friends with Wesley from elementary all the way through high school and graduated with him. Not an aggressive bone in his body, friends with everyone, the man had to do what he had to do to protect his self. #KerrickStrong

Enough is enough...we as law enforcement are now labeled as the enemy and have next to no backing but still do our jobs and fear more of being thrown to the wolves than actually taking a bullet. There should have been an aquital but since there was a hung jury this needs to end as it is. Don't make the mistake of turning "justice" into giving in to the demands of people that are angry because the justice system didn't give them the outcome they wanted. Officer Kerrick would not get any kind of additional trial or any other results even if this side of the law marched, protested, demanded and or threatened / rioted etc.
Do the right thing and let this go!?!?
