Mr Cooper, I am Officer Kerrick's brother in law and a 20 year veteran LEO myself. This matter had to go before the Grand Jury twice and now 2/3s of the trial jury voted that Wesley is NOT GUILTY. The evidence is no longer a mystery and since the SBI was not called as witnesses we can assume that their investigation "cleared" him. There are many who don't believe he should have ever been charged in the first place. With all of this in mind, it is clear that this case can not be successfully prosecuted and we implore you to dismiss it. #kerrickstrong

Beyond reasonable doubt was not shown. Never let the criminal justice system make decisions based on trying to squelch deviant behavior. In other words, he should be found not guilty and handle the community behavior as needed

Hung jury, unfortunate circumstances. Video could go either way. If someone was running at me and I yelled get on the ground several times and he kept coming, I'd have shot too! Kerrick feared for his life!

He was defending himself! These types of bogus charges make good officers want to leave the profession, and with good reason. You can't protect the public if you can't protect yourself.

Justice was served. Both the state and the defense had top notch lawyers and the result was a mistrial. end of story. There should be NO new trial.

When a police tells someone to stop they should follow his or her orders. Who on their right mind runs toward a policeman or policewoman. The dash board video tells me Office Kerrick is innocent.

We have a failed judicial system. This should have never went to trial. Who ever was in on this being brought to trial and the media's attention needs to be banished from the U.S.A period!! He has never been guilty of murder what he was guilty of was protecting the citizens of Charlotte from criminals and thugs and let it be a white person that charged him tried to take his life.... Well that's one less white piece of trash that the rest of the law abiding citizens don't have to worry about!
