The trial is over ... The jury made its decision. Done. Lesson learned ... When the police tell you to pull over, stop, or get on the ground, DO IT. If you are polite and do as you're told, it'll work out without any issues. Fight the cops, and you'll not like the result.

With a hung jury 8-4 in favor of Kerrick being innocent, it is timer to close the book.

He was judged by a "jury of his peers" and were deadlocked, 8/not guilty-4/guilty and no one would budge....the jury was diverse in race......I'm curious who voted guilty, though

Officer Kerrick's reaction to Ferrell was the only way to react. Some person charging towards a cop and not stop when he is commanded to was wanting trouble! Innocent is the true outcome of this trial. Besides his family has been paid their money.

Randall Wes Kerrick and his family have been punished too much already. Everyone involved needs peace and healing.

This trial has received more than too much attention already. Time to move on.

Officer Kerrick lawfully defended his life. Two thirds of the jury voted Not Guilty. Move on from this and stop wasting tax payers money on a personal witch hunt.

This LEO IS NOT GUILTY!! Do the right thing AG. As the wife of a LEO you do not know how hard their job is unless you've been in their shoes.

This man should have never been charged! The first Grand Jury got it right, and the DA's Office should have listened! This man was doing his job!

There should never been a trial. This man attacked the police officer. He got what he had coming. It is time to stand up and stop this crap

As AG you failed us in not upholding the wishes of the people in NC regarding gay marriage. Please do the right thing this time and decline a retrial for this officer, who is now becoming a victim himself. Thank you.

Let this man move on with his life.

As tragic as this is, this would not even have been an issue if the young man had simply complied with the officer's orders and had not charged the officer. This case should not be retried.

There should not be another trial, due to a mistrial and 8 out of 12 jurors in favor of acquittal.

Officer Kerrick did his job. His actions were appropriate for the situation and not out of line with State Standards. He is INNOCENT and deserves to have all charges dropped IMMEDIATELY.
