I,too, kept up with trial and news reports of Kerrick trial. I feel Officer Kerrick acted in self-defense and should not be retried. The evidence has shown that Jonathan Ferrell's actions were offensive. I am so sorry his life was lost. I pray for peace for both the Ferrell and Kerrick families.

A retrial will end up in either a hung jury or an acquittal based on the patrol car video. No non biased impartial view of this footage could exclude reasonable doubt ,in officer kerricks actions. A retrial will only result in a further divided community, at a time when healing needs to begin

A grand jury found no probable cause. Now the majority of a jury has spoken. I urge the AG to not use this case for his political benefit and do the right thing ~ dismiss the charges.

The trial is done. I support the police. He may have used excessive force, but I don't believe he meant to kill. Had the victim just listened the first time, this may not have happened. It is a tragedy and prayers to ALL involved. No one is going to forget this easily.

The first grand jury failed to indict. NC Attorney General forced a new grand jury that obviously felt forced to indict Kerrick. Now we have a mistrial. DO NOT RETRY Officer Kerrick. Stop wasting taxpayer .money

He has received a fair trial of his peers and should be free to pursue his life and be with his family. A retrial will only waste money and get the same result. It is obvious that he shot the much larger Jonathan Ferrell in self-defense who would surely have overpowered him and put the lives of all 3 officers in jeopardy.

I strongly believe that he was in fear for his life. The family of the "victim" should not have taken the monetary settlement. Let Officer Kerrick get on with his life....

Officer Kerrick should not be retried. The vote 8 (not Guilty) to 4 (guilty) should show that most of the jury feels he is not guilty.
