Agreeing with & saying the same as above, disappointed with CMPD Admin for charging officer Kerrick without a serious investigation. After that when the first Grand jury saw fit to know that he shouldn't be tried, WHY for the life of me that wasn't good enough? Does the system not trust our citizens to do their civic duty? It is a sad day!
Please trust the 8-4 decision. They served our community well. Leave it there, & let officer Kerrick pick up the broken pieces of his career & move on. This officer should hold his head high & know that he was serving the city of Charlotte well, & I thank him for his service, carry on!

I support Officer Kerricks actions of self-defense. To those who would like another trial, ask yourself, in light of todays environment of violence against citizens and officers... what would you do if the subject of a 911 call began charging toward you? Oh, you would simply continue shouting stop, get on the ground and wait to get tackled and struggle for your firearm? I doubt it. Additionally, this entire trial has no doubt been racially charged and we all know this and we all know it is the only reason a retrial is even being considered. Stop your pandering to individuals who won't stop at anything until they get what they want despite what is right, STOP! I'm very sorry the other family involved lost their son but he should have behaved in a civil manner and he would still be with is today, its that simple. I'm ashamed of the Charlotte faction that was involved in granting this family over two million dollars of taxpayer money! As I mentioned, I'm sorry for their loss but they did not and do not deserve to be paid because their son behaved in a uncontrolled uncivil manner and lost his life as the result. Its time for people to begin assuming responsibility and the repercussions of their own actions and stop laying the blame on others! Its that simple and no amount of civil unrest, denial or violence will ever, ever change that fact. Forever over and out!

When the grand jury decided officer Kerrick should not be tried, that should have been it. I don't believe he should have been put on trail. God bless him for his service and sacrifice for the community.

CMPD's administration played racial politics with the media and this officer's career and life as he knew it is over. I'm a cop in the same county and am blessed to not be a part of that agency. They should be ashamed! This officer has my full support!

I have been a law enforcement officer for 21 years. I have never seen such a rush to charge an officer. The 8-4 mistrial showed the lack of a case by the state from the start. Also as s taxpayer I would hate to see the much needed resources of this state wasted on yet another trial they can't win. Just for the purposes of political pressure.
