This hero should not have been charged in the first place. And now that it is proven there is nt enough evidence to convict, it's time to drop this career making and career breaking sham. Retrying this abomination of a case is unconstitutional.

It is clear that the man rushed at the officer. the color of either man should not be in question, it is a crime to run toward a police officer.

There is a lack of proof of this crime. Continuing to prosecute this officer sends the wrong message to criminals who are drooling at the opportunity presented by limiting law enforcement to protect themselves and their community

I am highly disappointed in CMPD & the city's decision to even try this case, YOU SHOULD BE ASHAMED of putting this officer through this. You sure as hell didn't pay him enough for this. If he is smart he will get out of law enforcement for good. It may be the one thing that saves his life. My late husband was a homicide investigator who suffered PTSD and death at his own hand for this very reason, he said NO ONE TAKES CARE OF US, OUR OWN DEPARTMENTS DON'T EVEN HAVE OUR BACK when we DO OUR JOB. Shame on Monroe & Shame on the city for paying this people whose son was a disrespectful thug who simply fled the scene of an accident to avoid going to jail for DUI, and if you look a little deeper you just may find he went out exactly like he wanted to, "Death by Cop, so that poor fiance' who had told him she was finished with his dead beat ass would have to live the rest of her life thinking about him. Pathetic. I think you all have forgotten GOOD BEHAVIOR gets rewarded NOT BAD, so why did you pay them our tax $$- this city better wise up bc you are sending a very painful message: THAT OFFICERS LIVES DONT MATTER & THAT CRIMINALS HAVE ALL THE RIGHTS.. good luck with that. Maybe, its time I move out of this state its gonna get crazy here if you guys keep this up.

3/4 of the jury voted innocent and it would waste tax payers money.

this police officer was doing his job. he did it well under extremely dangerous conditions. the defendant was under the influence of alcohol and an illegal drug. the jury locked at 8 to 4 for acquittal. don't try him again, instead of focusing all our time and money on the perpetrator lets give the innocent officer his job and gun back. then allow him to continue to protect us.

There should NOT be a retrial!!!! Kerrick is innocent! Officer Kerrick done what any human would have done, not to mention he was doing the job he has been trained to do. If people would put themselves in officer Kerrick's shoes and stop and ask what would i have done in that situation when only a second to respond. My family continue to pray for officer Kerrick and his family.

I started out assuming he must be guilty if the police chief saw the video and immediately ordered his arrest. But the video did not show what happened at all. Most of the stuff introduced by the prosecution supported kerrick ' s innocence - like Ferrell ' s DNA on the trigger. He kicked the door so hard it dented. That is not the behavior of anybody seeking help. The coroner verified the angle of the bullets put Ferrell on top of kerrick. How long must we be subjected to mob rule down town?

I would shoot if I was in the same situation. The unknown situation with a man running at you can be scary not knowing if he has a weapon and why he I'd acting like that.
