Officer did his job. When a police officer is sent on a call they never know what they will come across and they have to defend themselves to. Bottom line if a police officer tells you to stop you stop right them. Continue coming at them they deserve whatever office does. Office wants to go home to their families to.

Off. Kerrick was afraid for his life & the life of the other two officers - I would have done the same thing that he did - he is not guilty !!!

Kerrick was given the job as a cmpd officer because he was believed capable of making honorable and trustworthy judgement calls. He was given a service weapon along with proper training on how and when to use it. He made what he thought was a decision to defend his life against a suspect obviously not complying with police orders. How can you arm a police officer with a service weapon, give him extensive training, and then condemn him for defending a threat to his life? Kerrick should not be retried for this case. He should be given a pat on the back for serving the people of Charlotte, and standing strong in the face of danger.

2/3 of the people have spoken. Do not let a small percentage of the population scare you into an unwinnable trial at taxpayer expense. He is on trial for violation of state law, not department policy.

I believe Officer Kerrick was doing what he was trained to do. He had to make a split second decision that he believed could cost him his life. The outcome was tragic, but not intentional. The video clearly shows that there was no time to determine if the subject had a weapon or not. Officer Kerrick believed hew as protecting his life as well as those of his fellow officers. The first Grand Jury did not feel that a charge was justified. A trial jury could not come to that conclusion either, with the majority voting for acquittal. Justice has been done. In any trial, one side will not like the outcome. Some people confuse justice with revenge. I believe Officer Kerrick is innocent of manslaughter and should not be retried.

I support officer Kerrick and believe he was serving all of us by answering a call from one of us that needed his protection. He fulfilled his obligation as he was sworn to do! He deserves his pay and much respect for a thankless and dangerous job. He was where he was supposed to be doing what he was hired to do ,serve and protect ! Himself included. 2.25 million would not be enough to thank him for risking his life and what he has been through in the past few years. Praying that justice will truly be served .

I believe he was tried and it should be done. He shouldn't have been tried in the first place. Quit putting innocent police officers on trial just to make a name for yourself.

Officer Kerrick was doing his job. He should NOT have been charged with a crime. This person chose to run at an officer in the darkness of night when asked to stop. He attacked the police officer and the officer has the right to protect his own life. Justice was served!!!!!!

Retrying this case is not efficient use of NC resources. As a 26 year law enforcement veteran I find it absurd Officer Kerrick was ever charged. I find it appalling this case went to 2 Grand Jury hearings because the first would not return a true bill. Do not retry this case...Officer Kerrick is innocent.

I support Law Enforcement and I support Officer Kerrick 100%. The first Grand Jury could not find probable cause to charge him. That should have been the end of it. Stop letting singular groups of people dictate justice. Do not put him and the city through a second trial to placate to those in the streets protesting.
