I Stand With Kate Murray

I'm a CSH alumna. This is unacceptable behavior.

I stand with Kate Murray. Although my secret wish is that she would choose to attend public school in the fall. And if she did attend public school in the fall, I would hope that she would continue to work hard and excel in her studies. And when it comes time for her college admissions essays, I hope that she writes about this experience: the time that she stood strong in the face of an institution which remains steadfast in its antiquated and mysogonistic ideals. I would hope that her parents would be pleased to stop giving money to such an institution, and that perhaps, maybe they would even consider donating some of the saved tuition money to an amazing healthcare provider such as Planned Parenthood. And the remaining tuition money? Invest it into that amazing Kate’s college education... because she is going places.

Planned Parenthood offers comprehensive health care to women of all income ranges. Shame on anyone against a young woman standing up for herself and other women.

I'm disappointed in Sacred Heart and concerned that dropping the name Convent a few years back was window dressing. Let young women think for themselves, it's your job as educators.

Planned Parenthood provides so many good services that are not abortion. As a young woman of limited means I went to them for routine care and birth control. This girl's support of PP may or may not be related to abortion, so I think you are wrong to censor her.

Expulsion for supporting an organization which offers high quality affordable healthcare? Absurd...

Dear Pam Hayes and the Administration of Sacred Heart Greenwich: I'm writing with great concern over the news that I am hearing coming out of Sacred Heart Greenwich today about a student (and possibly three others) being threatened with expulsion because of a Planned Parenthood sticker on her laptop. I just removed my child from a catholic school because they allowed her to be abused by another student with zero resolve. I would never again enroll my daughter in another catholic school after witnessing the negligence of the administration and the diocese. The fact that they would consider expulsion for this young lady is disgusting after my having to fight for my own child’s safety in one of their campuses.

CSH 91st Class of 2000: Planned Parenthood provides preventative health services nationwide. They are critical to the health and well-being of millions of Americans. I stand with Kate and shame on the Greenwich School for their hostility towards repro health.
