We as Catholics were taught free will and as Americans, the right to speak...at least that is the way it was...I support this youngster. Sad to see her freedom and right to speak is being squashed.

Kate is allowed to show her support for any organization - as long as it isn't a hate group!

I stand with you Kate and with the first amendment. My 11 years at CSH we’re so important in the formation of my mind and values. I’m saddened that this issue has even been raised. It flies in the face of what we were taught. That said I hope that there is a resolution that meets the needs of the individual and the institution. Head of school may need to back off perhaps even... apologize.
I hear , Kate , you have opted for the moment to remove the sticker. That may be the wisest and most expedient choice for you. But I hope you don’t think this means you lose your voice. Maybe just means you choose your battles wisely.
I will be watching to see how this story evolves.

Freedom of Speech is a right guaranteed under the first amendment . This threat of expulsion for supporting planned parenthood is fascist.

Hard to believe a school in Greenwich CT can be so wrong-headed. But then....

Get away from religious schools and attend a secular one. Those schools are filled with bigots, Planned Parenthood is much more than just an abortion clinic but the religious think they have control of all women's bodies. Get away from them now you deserve better!!!

Bravo to Kate Murray and to all the fellow students and alum standing up for freedom of expression. CSH should respect Kate's views even if they do not agree with them - and they are not doing that. Unfortunately threatening expulsion is a predictable response from those few in a powerful position at the school. What a surprise. I don't believe the school's argument that there is an outlet for this type of communication but I hope I am wrong. Keep it up Kate. I am so glad you have a groundswell of support across the school community.

The actions of this school just prove that the rcc does not value women at all.

I'm a practicing Catholic and attended an all girls Catholic high school. That being said, this is an unacceptable form of stifling someone's right to expression (and opinion, for that matter). It also makes an assumption that Planned Parenthood is nothing more than a political pro-abortion organization. Young women need the ability to think for themselves and can both make ideological decisions while attending a school that encourages the practice of one particular faith. If "open debate" is encouraged, than there should be absolutely no reason her education should be in jeopardy over a sticker.
First amendment applies to all Americans.
