That this petition is necessary is a disgrace to the education I received at CSH. (Now SHG, I guess.)

When I heard this story, I was shocked by the school's response. Both my daughter and myself are Sacred Heart educated, and learned to use our voices to advocate for that in which we believe. We are both very disappointed in the school's position.

I attended Sacred Heart Academy in Grand Cocteau, Louisiana and it was the best decision I ever made. I then taught AP Government at Sacred Heart Academy in New Orleans for 22 years. My daughter and Daughter in law attended Sacred Heart in New Orleans their entire lives. I am completely appalled at what has taken place in Greenwich. If I was taught anything about the foundation of the Society of the Sacred Heart is that it was established to educate young women to be strong leaders . Kate sounds like the kind of young woman the society had in mind.

Alumna CSH 91st St, 1992.
I am infuriated that Kate's voice is being silenced. I have always believed that my education at CSH was what have driven my feminism, my outspoken voice on the issues, and my commitment to social justice. I am so dismayed that Kate will not get the same support for her voice that I did as a young woman. Kate I stand with you! Never let anyone silence your voice, it's your best weapon in this world!

I FURIOUS that the Catholic Church would DARE to muzzle the free speech of any American who is growing to define their own INDIVIDUATION.

Stand up for what you believe in, and don't let people take away your voice. Know that although your high school may try to "dictate" your freedom of speech, plenty of folks support you. Good luck, stay strong. I too, stand with planned parenthood. Kudos, Kate!

Newton Country Day alum class of ‘88. This goes against so much that I learned in my Sacred Heart education. We should be supporting women and organizations that support women’s rights. Very disappointed in this decision. Would a pro-Trump sticker be allowed? His policies and actions are far more egregious and against Sacred Heart values.

As a graduate of a Sacred Heart school I am horrified by this...We were taught and encouraged to speak out against anything we felt was wrong or unjust and in favor of what we believed in...Keep it up Kate!

I am catholic and attended catholic schools. I love the church, but respectfully submit that they have bigger things to worry about, or in the spirit of the upcoming Lenten season, bigger fish to fry.
