I will never forget being in Ethics class at Sacred Heart and discussing abortion. I was the only one outspoken enough to say “I’m 16, OF COURSE I would consider abortion.” I was sent to the office shortly after and asked to put a cap on my opinions so other girls wouldn’t get any ideas.
I too, was asked to leave Sacred Heart.
After putting a deposit down for my senior year, my parents were informed that I wasn’t invited back to finish out my high school career. Why? Because I didn’t want to apply to college, looked bad for their statistics.
In my last conversation with CSH I was told “times are changing and we aren’t with it. Girls will keep asking to bring girls to prom and we’ll keep saying no”
And with that I was left a high school drop out.
In more ways than one, Sacred Heart Greenwich you are disgusting. I am nothing short of ashamed to have been the 4th generation in my family to attend and I can assure you it stops there.

I’m married to a Sacred Heart alumna. SHU’s handling of this circumstance and implicit disrespect for female students and women’s health has her (entirely appropriately) fit to be tied. College should be an inclusive, forward-thinking environment and empowering experience, especially for young women. Superstitious insanity based on a misunderstanding of Planned Parenthood's purpose has no place at Sacred Heart.

Freedom of speech is so important. Especially these days! PP does a lot of good and Kate has a right to stand up for what she believes in!

This is exactly the wrong message to send to young women. Even today it seems the RC church is gender biased at worst, or tone deaf

As a former GHS educator the actions of SHG are an embarrassment to goals of education. Re-read your mission statement!

Planned Parenthood provides much needed healthcare to girls and women. Surely, the Catholic can not oppose caring for the sick nor for the provision of preventative healthcare!
