stop messing with what is good and working great with our kids and community!! Work on your ridiculous nonsense you call district policy and let the people who are passionate and good at their jobs, DO THEIR JOBS!!
We made the decision 2 years ago not to attend SCHS due to ongoing problems, but since the arrival of Pricipal Halt, those problems have been addressed. Truancy is low and staff moral is high now and it is now an option for my children. But now with Halt gone, who knows..
As a retired educator with over thirty six years experience, I am extremely upset about the release of Mike Halt from his position as principal of San Clemente High School. He has done an outstanding job as principal and deserves a raise not a firing.
All metrics at San Clemente High are up, and as evidenced by the number of signatures already, Mr. Halt is very respected at SCHS and in the community. If the District wishes the community to support this decision, they are going to have to be more forthcoming about the reasons.
Principal Halt has been an exemplary Administrator, and as a student I can truly say that he cared about my education as well as my well-being. It is a serious mistake to hire someone so obviously universally loved by his community, staff, and students.
I want Principal Halt back at SCHS for my daughter and for San Clemente.
Don't go to SC but I agree.

Very upset over the way this whole thing was handled by the board. Halt was a great leader and my son respected him a great deal. What an underhanded move by the board. I won't forget this at election time and plan to vote against each and every member
