There is absolutely no way we use almost 1200 gallons of water a day. Impossible. Three time what we used last year at this time.

Our water usage doubled in August over the 7 previous months: 6185 average for 7 months, now 13000 gallons, outrageous

In 2015, our consumption jumped from: 6185 gal/month thru meter read on July 17, to: 13000 gal with meter read on Aug 17. We had no changes in watering habits at all.

Our water meter must have had a malfunction. It showed our water usage increased by 300% based on last month's reading but we've experienced no leaks or extraordinary usage.

Have been conserving all summer and watering lawn once a week. Still, my last bill kicked me out of my...flip flops. How is that possible, increase by double?

Could not have quadrupled water usage...lawn is not being watered and looks like crap.

The number of gallons used in August was a significant increase (7200 in June, 8100 in July, and 21,600 in August). We were not even home for part of August and did not use that much more water. Something is clearly wrong with the bill.

We have watered on a consistent and legal schedule for years. This month's bill was double that for historical amounts.

My latest bill says that we used over 60,000 gallons of water in Aug. Not possible...we were gone for over a week that month. This is more than half of our 8 month consumption.

Our water usage jumped from an average of 6000 gallons per month to nearly 20000 gallons this past month. The problem is widespread not just in Lost Creek but city wide.

Our water usage in July was 5.000 gallons. In August it was 45,000. We were out of town for half of the time for the August reading. This reading is impossible. Water bill has quadrupled. In addition the city of Austin's response to customers questions and concerns has been poor. This is an egregious abuse by a public utility.

Our bill shows our consumption 3x for month of August of normal consumption.

This is an outrage by the city, and our next course of action will be the investigative reporters on KXAN, KEYE, KVUE, and local Fox.

For the first time in the 23 years I've lived in this house, my water bill was more than my electric in a month filled with hundred degree days.

We have had similar experiences as those described above - empty nesters, brown lawn, but usage supposedly much higher than last year at this time.
