Rapid City, S.D. a city with a population a little over 70,000 people, is in need of a fresh new grocery store. The big three grocery providers in the city Wal-Mart, Safeway, and Family Thrift Center are just not cutting it. Let’s face it Safeway and Family Thrift Centers died off back in the early 2000’s. Not even the layouts of these stores have changed and nothing new is being provided to the customer. These are aging chains that are on a downward spiral.

What Rapid City needs is a Hy-Vee grocery store to open within the city. Hy-Vee brings household products, fresh food, a wider selection of produce, and rewards its customers with things such as Hy-Vee fuel savings. Hy-Vee also prides itself on customer service adopting the slogan “Where there’s a helpful smile in every isle”. If you’ve ever shopped at a Hy-Vee you know Rapid City would benefit from this store that truly gives back to the community. Please sign this petition to let the Hy-Vee Corporate Offices in Iowa know that they are welcome here!

The feedback from local shoppers is clear. Everyone is tired of the same old grocery options.

I am originally from Davenport, IA and have shopped Hy-Vee for many many years. Since coming to Rapid City, SD, I have to shop at three different grocery stores to find the items I want. I know that the Hy-Vee's in the Quad Cities have those items I do shop for and, at a fare price along with great customer service.

I would love to see a Hy-Vee in Rapid City. We lived in Omaha for 18 years...miss it soooooo much. I realize it is a ways away from your normal supply routes. Rapid City could really use more competition in the grocery arena. Please do study on the feasibility! Thank you.

They could take over, the stores we have don't seem to care in the least about their customers, rotten fresh fruit and veggies, dirty stores. They know they are the only game in town and that is just the way they behave.

We are in Lead, but because I remember shopping at HyVee in KS and loving it for the quality and variety of the food, something that would be most needed on the northern hills, we would definitely make the trip to Rapid City on a weekly basis!

Please come to Rapid! My husband requires Gluten Free items and I always have to travel so far or stock up when I see one! Family Thrift is way over priced for what you get. Safeway is over priced but always has the variety and freshness. And I just hate Walmart. Always love Hy-Vee!!
