Houston's Sunnyside for Safety and Improvement
Sunnyside is a community of predominately African American and Hispanic descent in the City of Houston. "Houston's Sunnyside for Safety and Improvement "was established in 2014. Our mission is to increase the safety and well-being of our community by reducing crime, improving streets, and bringing in more businesses. Our neighborhood consists of many elderly persons, children, and others who are trying to work and earn a living, but live below the poverty line. Sunnyside already deemed a disadvantaged neighborhood has shown an increase in the infiltration of drug trafficking, human trafficking, child neglect, elderly abuse, etc. much of it led by a Sunnyside resident Shrista "Rusty" Grant and her family. Many of us have lived in this neighborhood our entire lives and so have our families and we feel it's time for a drastic change. We ask that law enforcement, and our elected officials etc. properly give this issue their full attention, in eliminating and incarcerating individuals who have caused Sunnyside to continuously be an unsafe territory.
