Another bad decision by city. Instead of fixing our parking and traffic problem they are adding to it. It seems like they don’t think things through. There’s gotta be a better idea than this horrific design!

please, do not approve Hotel Indigo's parking exception and density variance. It will cripple our community, which is already burdened by the parking shortage and the traffic.

On behalf of all the residents and business owners of Glendale City, living/working in the vicinity of the proposed Indigo Hotel, I urge you to NOT APPROVE the proposed project for INDIGO HOTEL for the following reasons:
1) Parking exception is unacceptable since there is already parking shortage in Glendale for the existing residents and for businesses in the vicinity. Indigo Hotel is proposed on one of the most crowded and the busiest corners in Glendale: intersection of Maryland and California. There is already insufficient parking for even the existing residents and businesses in the vicinity. Adding a hotel of such a big size, together with a restaurant, a meeting room, and a roof deck (which can easily turn into a banquet hall), will flood our streets and nearby public parking spaces with patrons and cars creating a nightmare for both nearby residents and business owners/patrons. The hotel should not only provide 140 parking spaces for its own guests, but also additional parking for its 70 employees, for it restaurant, its meeting room, and the roof deck, which can be all be busy simultaneously at any time of the day.
2) Density variance will add to the existing density crisis in Downtown and is unacceptable. The developer is asking to increase the density and use the alley space but will not be providing usable public open space. Indigo Hotel does not need to be that big, especially since there are numerous other hotels within a block, and since the intersection of Maryland and California has been known for lots of traffic and car accidents already. Plus, the hotel site is adjacent to the quiet residential community and will create problems for residents like me.
3) Public parking designed by Hotel Indigo is unacceptable: it is in the back of the building and not accessible to public. If Hotel Indigo intends to "replace" the public parking -then it should design its public parking entrance in a more accessible way - not in the back of its building bu
