Having had opportunity to meet and hear the voices of the homeless, their struggles and concerns, I believe they are every bit as entitled to a 'home' as you and I. They need our help. Help them!.

Jesus told us that the poor and down trodden will always be with us. One reason why, is that evil is always present to harm anyone of us. We Christians can be salt and light to the needy. If your not a believer, you can be a humanitarian. At any rate we can improve the health of our community!

I fully support the creation of Hope Village. My family(husband, 8 yr old son, 2 cats, and a dog) spent a total of 90 days homeless. We were blessed with being able to sleep on the porch of our church. As a person who has walked the path of homelessness, I can very strongly state that the need for a safe haven such Hope Village is absolutely a neccisity in Jackson County. There is such a commonality with tell the homeless constantly being, "You cant be here" and being run off from areas that provide needed resources that it causes people to shut down and lose any sense of ever getting out the situation. If people would just take a few minutes to listen, you would be amazed at the facts you learn. Not every homeless person is a thief, drug addict, alcoholic, crazy, or in there situation by choice. Providing a place where they are told they can be, and get support, love, and safety can work miracles in a persons life. Not only the people living in the tiny houses benefit, the whole community would. Its finally an answer to an ongoing epidemic. Hope Village would be an adequate answer and gift to the community.

It is a basic human need to have shelter and safety. We've all had setbacks and hard times, it's our duty as human beings to help one another in hard times, not to judge or decide who is worth the assistance.

Finally an approach to the homeless problem that treats the homeless as fellow humans and seeks to help correct the problem and help the individuals involved, no longer ignoring the homeless or treating them as fat that needs to be cut from proper society but as individuals just like us who have fallen on hard times, FOR WHATEVER REASON. I could not be in agreement more than I am for the need for this project, having been homeless myself.

I am the Secret Garden Girl. We grow "clean" fruits and veggies en mass for our most vulnerable. I have seen first hand what stable housing does for our most vulnerable. We also have pledged to donate and manage "clean" gardens for Hope Village. Please reconsider this important issue. Thank you.

This is a humane and sensible strategy for every city to adopt to help stabilize and transition people living on the street into long term housing. Many living on the street are there because of mental health issues; they deserve compassion.
