Coach Carter brings out the athlete in each and every student he has worked with. His calm and kind demeanor is unmatched. He always has that smile on his face you see in this picture and always willing to help and mentor his students to the fullest. He is a legend, I can only hope my children have someone like him when they enter athletics in school.

Coach Carter gave me the coaches award as a 7th grader. No 7th graders got awards I thought! He instilled confidence in me when I had none. He showed me that heart, hustle and fundamentals were more important than size. He paved the way for my athletic career, and I am forever grateful!! Heart of GOLD!!

Coach Carter is an amazing human, I can only hope when my son goes to school that he will encounter someone who can inspire him as I know Coach Carter inspired me and everyone I know that was fortunate enough to have him as a teacher. We need to work hard to honor the rare people who go above and beyond to give back to children and their communities because its a dying breed.
