I first met coach Carter the first day he and Mrs. Carter moved to Moore County after leaving Fayetteville State University in 1965. He immediately took an interest in, and loaded several boys into his blue Ford Galaxy 500 and hauled us all over Moore County to school gymnasiums that were open during the Summer months. He coached us & coaxed us to be better. He even played with us when we needed an extra player. Even though he had the physique of a rugged football running back that he was in college he had a naturally gentle way with us and never once raised a voice in anger. Only in encouragement and motivation. Keep Carter....Keep the man and his name alive in Moore County forever.
