Please bring back these Honors Courses to Grand Oaks High School. These courses serve an important role in many students' educational and personal development. Removing them greatly lessens the quality of the education available to these students and would have long-reaching effects on their GPA and future college aspirations.

Please bring these courses back to GOHS. This helps my daughter compete, GPA-wise, with other high school graduates from other schools to be able to go to the college of her choice.

With a school this size, it is imperative that you have appropriate choices for our students and only offering levels classes and AP in certain subjects severely limits our students options. This change was made after course selection and this is not a district wide change. Please bring them back.

My kids aren't headed to high school yet, but I would hope they will have the opportunity to take honors classes once they get there. I remember taking honors classes myself, and it was great to be pushed and to learn without the headache of the logistics of college credit or AP tests.

This is putting way to much stress and pressure on my 16 year old. He wants to learn and grow but has several extracurriculars and taking four AP classes isn’t feasible. He shouldn’t be punished so the numbers reflect better for the school. At the end of the day they are still children.

Consider those kids not ready for DC/AP but want a more challenging curriculum. Student athletes will have a tough time with DC/AP since they are required to be at the school from 7am-9pm on game days and 7am-5pm on every other day with practice. It’s quite unrealistic they will keep up with the work

My son can’t handle taking all college level courses while juggling basketball, work, scouts and church leadership. But he also wants to be challenged more than typical level classes. A mix of honors and AP/DC classes is still needed for kids at GOHS!

We must keep honors courses for our students who wish to be challenged, I can’t believe this is even a debate. I’ve paid a healthy amount in property taxes to send my kids to great schools and this feels like amateur hour from leadership.

Honors classes have a significant impact on schools. The real world is not a giant participation trophy.
