The school administration reversed their decision and approved the placement of the marble bench for Zach. This victory belongs to the 292 people who refused to accept no for an answer. Keep an eye on the school grounds for the installation announcement coming soon.

Merrimack Valley High School is refusing to honor one of their own. Zach Fancy (18) passed away in February. As a senior project one of the students wishes to create a marble bench in honor of Zach and have it placed on school property. But the school refuses to allow this. They say that sense other students have passed away before we can not honor the young man who impacted so many of our lives in this way. This Petition will be for allowing the student to go forward with the project and for Zach to be honored in the way he deserves.

Would the people at MVHS have a different opinion if it had been a teacher that was to be honored ? I think so ! Thank you to the students who are fighting to honor such a special young man . We love you Zach

As Zachary's grandmother, i can tell you he was a loving and caring young man. He has been there for the misunderstood as well as for handicap people. He loved playing his sax for the elderly at nursing homes. I feel that a bench to honor Zach , should be a bench to honor all young and talented that left us way too soon.we miss them all as we miss Zach.

Zach and i grew up together for awhile, we lived right next to door to eachother. We were so young at the time but even than he had so much potential and cared so much. I have lost a lot of family and friends in the past year but this was by far the saddest. Zachary needs to be honored.

As Zach's former teacher he was a very special boy. Zach triumphed over a lot and my hope is that other students will see his bench and remember that there are other things one can do to ask for help before reaching the point Zach reached. Its too bad that Zach felt like he had to take his life in order to get the attention he was yearning for...

I understand stand that the Superintendent of MVHS said that many kids have died from suicide at the school so they can't do it for one kid. But maybe putting something there could detour another suicide. Maybe kids looking at the bench will realize that you may feel alone at the time but their are people that do love u out there.
