The United States is lacking knowledge of knowing how to sustain themselves in their own homes and the outside world. Home economics classes should be included into this area school's curriculum. Students should be required to take at least one subject within the home economics category. Home ec classes can teach students how to save money which is critical in today's economy. Sewing has become a lost art. People don't buy their own clothes anymore. If clothes rip or tear, students would be taught how to use their skills and mend it. Learning how to cook healthy food would save money at home from not going out to eat. The fast food industry is booming. It is nice to see businesses expanding but people should care more about their health. From these reasons Home Ec classes should be mandatory for students to learn fundamental skills to know in the future.

I really did not think so many people would be just as annoyed as I am about how little we know about basic mending or cooking. It feels like the world is finally waking up to the fact that we are all just struggling to keep our clothes from falling apart while eating way too much overpriced takeout. This momentum is wild and I am honestly just floored that this simple idea is actually gaining some real traction.

Absolutely home education should be taught in High School, most young married couples today don't know how to fix anything, budget expenses, cook healthy food or parent their children. These are just a few common things that joung adults should know.
It would benefit society if all children/teenager had to take home economics. They would learn life sustaining skills. They would know how to mend clothes. Cook for themselves. Learn patience. Bring back home economics.
I never had the option, but it would have helped me even today!
i wrote an entire essay on this. I believe it should be an option in schools!!
Home Economics teaches the fundamentals of survival. Keep the program alive so the future can survive.

I use the food planning, preparation and sewing skills that I learned in my Home Ec class every day of my life. Home Ec is a valuable part of education and should be offered in schools.
