Schools and educators may think they are preparing us for the future but they are not even close.
Many people after they graduate high school, don't even know how the political system works. So how are they supposed to vote when they don't even know what they are voting on/for? They don't even teach us the laws for our country in which we live in or our human rights. How are we supposed to protect ourselves if we don't know our rights?
If someone was choking, we wouldn't know how to help them because we weren't taught basic first aid. What about how to look after our health? How are we supposed to know that energy bars are actually bad for you?
Our lives revolve around money so why aren't we taught how money works? Hot to budget? How to do our taxes? We will need somewhere to live so how do we buy a house with a mortgage?
All of these things and more are the things we should be learning. Make classes for us to learn these things so we are prepared for our futures. Have them be required and not just an elective. Make us prepared.

Literally graduated last year and I still have no idea how to do my taxes. School was a total waste of time for real world stuff.

100% agree. teach us how to buy a house or do taxes instead of useless algebra we never use again.
