Students need to know how to take care of themselves in the later years of their life whether they plan to go to college or not and starting a Home Economics class would provide an opportunity for students to learn skills like cooking, managing a household, working with textiles, financing, etc. Providing students with these opportunities would benefit both the students and their families so they don't have to assist their children after they graduate.

The silence from the school board is frustrating and it feels like we are shouting into a void. I am exhausted by the lack of response but I refuse to let this issue fade into the background. Your stories about the skills you wish you had learned keep me moving forward.

SERIOUSLY. i would have killed for a class that explained how a credit score works instead of just memorizing dates for history class.

My son is graduating soon and has no clue how to use a washing machine. This is basic stuff they need to learn before moving out.
